Are your kids excited for St. Patrick’s Day? If so, there are plenty of ways to make this holiday more exciting for them – and it all starts with food.
This year, St. Paddy’s just happens to fall on a weekend, which is great for parents. You can theme your whole day around it and really make it memorable for your children.
From St. Patrick’s Day snack ideas like Jello pot of golds to a leprechaun lunch, there’s a unique idea for every meal of the day.
Here are 5 St. Patrick’s Day Kids Snack Ideas that will help you make this day fun for your kids:
Last week, we showed you 5 unique St. Paddy’s Day Breakfast ideas for kids. Make this recipe for your kids’ morning snack to keep in theme with the day. Use a chocolate gold coin on top of the whip cream to really pull the snack together. While you’re making the Jello, why not try snack #2 as well….
All you need for this snack is yellow Jello, a lime and a leprechaun trinket you can find at any dollar store. Hollow out the lime and fill it with cubes of Jello, scatter a few other cubes on the plate (you can even add a few chocolate coins as well) along with the leprechaun and you have a festive, healthy snack for your kids.
After morning snack comes lunch. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than a do-it-yourself mini shamrock pizza activity for your kids. Simply mold the dough into the shape of a shamrock and let them decorate with green-themed vegetables (green peppers, green onions, broccoli etc.).
Not a fan of the shamrock pizza idea (or want to save the pizza idea for dinner)? How about a leprechaun lunch. This easy-to-make meal with put a smile on your kids face – and will take you less than 10 minutes to make.
After lunch comes afternoon snack time. As far as fun snacks go, this can’t be beat. Sure, it’s not the healthiest snack out there but it does include pretzels and peanuts, which are slightly healthier than most other snack choices.
